During our trip to Silicon Valley, we had the chance to see Ed Bugnion land Cisco to give an update on UCS. I remind all practical purposes means that UCS Unified Computing System and is the range of blade servers manufactured by Cisco. So what do they have that others do not? Well, in the UCS system is not consitutes a single frame but a set of chassis managed with external extenders and relying on the unified protocol COEF.

APIs thoughts were directly as a web service, not as mutiples stacks as varied and unrelated and complicated to administer. The relationship between core and edge components is natively plug & play.
The numerous performance records and consolidation achieved on UCS prove the correctness of the concept and not a coincidence that the product is used by 2800 customers that Cisco is the 3rd place worldwide sales server blades in just 18 months! Cisco offers a wide range able to meet all needs while continuing to expand its range.
Beyond strategic agreements signed with the two main actors of the storage market and without offending the sensibilities, we feel other customers Pillar indeed a strong similarity in the genesis, the questioning of the model traditional performance gains achieved, and ease of administration between the UCS and AXIOM .
